SANTA ROSA CITY COUNCIL

Santa Rosa now has district elections; to find your district, go here. Remember, you must reside within city limits to be represented by City Council. If you live in an unincorporated part of the city, you will be represented by a member of the Board of Supervisors. Some City Council members don't have districts by their names, because those districts have yet to hold elections-that'll happen on November 3, 2020.

Mayor:  Tom Schwedhelm, District 6. Mr. Schwedhelm is a retired Chief of Police of SRPD. Major backers: Business.*

Vice Mayor: Victoria Fleming, District 4

John Sawyer, District 2. He ran against Susan Gorin for Supervisor but lost. He was backed by Business. He's openly gay and his partner used to volunteer for the SRPD. Major backers: Business.*

Chris Rogers  Major backers: Labor.*

Ernesto Olivares. Mr Olivares is a retired SRPD officer; he was the "gang czar" his last few years on the force. He lived in Rohnert Park and was a registered Republican until he moved to SR to run for Council. Major backers: Business.*

What do City Council members do? They deal with running the city.

How much are they paid? They receive a stipend of $800/month, while the mayor receives $1200 a month.
